Bio
Dr. Miko Nino is Assistant Vice President for Adult and Online Education and Adjunct Faculty at Rhode Island College. In addition, Dr. Nino currently oversees the Bachelor of Professional Studies, Rhode Island College’s first online program for working adults. As a practitioner, he has led the strategic planning for online learning and emergency remote teaching for higher education institutions and has coached and trained hundreds of faculty members in topics related to pedagogy, instructional design and online learning. His work and research have been published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented in national and international conferences. In addition, Dr. Nino serves on the editorial review boards for six journals and is one of the mentors of the UPLift program developed by UPCEA. In 2024, he was name one of Rhode Island's 40 Under 40 by the Providence Business News for his accomplishments and career in online and adult education.
His education includes a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from Virginia Tech, an M.A. in Instructional Systems Development from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), and a B.A. in International Business from Lindenwood University. He is also a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
